Her-Story of Love, "A Stronger Daye" is a poetic theatrical production; a story of strength, over coming and new possibilites. It follows Kim and Tina, two women who have survived physical and sexual abuse and are striving to move on with there lives. Facing current and past loves and finding healing in writing poetry. These two women show us the trials that many women face after abuse. Together they give us hope and courage to find the strength within ourselves to no longer be a victim but an over-comer.  Inspired by the story of award winning activist & poet Monica Daye, author of "And You Thought You Had Problems", this play seeks to challenge attitudes, values, and behaviors about sexual assault and domestic violence in hopes to decrease assaults and increase awareness. This show is guranteed to enlighten, inspire, and entertain all generations. The play was written by spoken word artist, emcee, writer and activist, Dasan Ahanu. It is performed by the cast of the play, “Black Poetry.”The one-time performance will be October 20th at Hayti Heritage Center 804 Fayetteville Street. Durham, NC 27701. Doors open at 6 pm.

A special candlelight vigil will start at 6:45pm. Asking the entire community to come out and be a part of this vigil.

The show begins promptly at 8 pm. Tickets are on sale now. $8 in advance. $12 @ the door.
